Facebook is testing a new way to link fans to pages they might like. The new functionality: If a user likes a post that has a page tagged in the text, the platform prompts users to like that page as well.
That sentence sounds confusing, even to me. It means that if you “like” this post:
….Facebook might now prompt you to “like” BBC America as well.
This is the latest attempt by Facebook to improve page engagement.
The lesson for journalists: Next time you share a news story on Facebook, tag the news organization as well. This provides your fans with an extra opportunity to connect with this organization.
